You guys are so lucky! Do you every get ice which stops you from fishing? Fishing is my outlet for stress, so I would be out there all winter if I could, even if I wasn't catching much! We still have that dang hard coating on top of our lakes.... Maybe by the second week of April I will be able to launch the USS Pend Oreille!

Nice smallmouth floyd. About time we see your face and a fish at the same time cudaman. You better hurry and log that fish into the lunge log as it might be lunker of the month.

Both Newman and Silver are not doing much yet. Both had water temps hovering at 41-42 degrees. I found one spot which had 46 degree water, and spooked one fish out. Hopefully next weekend that little hole will be getting close to 50 and hold a few fish looking to warm up. Saw one fish on Silver, which hit on a rather large lure. I was doing the hokey pokey, and plodding it along. She bumped it and just swam off. Not a big fish, but a fish none the less. Most of the fish appeared to be in 18-20 feet of water yet.

I think I am going to go back to Silver on Wednesday evening and troll some big Swimmin Joes. I think Coty will go, so we can troll three poles, with my two pole permit. Should up the odds a bit. Haven't really trolled much in the past, but rather just used it as a break from casting. Kind of want to tip the scales a bit more in my favor when the fish aren't cooperating much yet....
