I don't know anything about anything on this subject..... but I will say replica. Just because it looks to dang nice! Part of me thinks, with a replica every inch must come out perfect, and that looks pretty perfect. Can't wait to hear what it is.
Would you be willing to say what it cost you? and give a plug to the taxidermist.

Great looking mount Lucius!!! That is one nice fish....nowadays we should ALL be getting replicas (50" minimum gives it away :-# )

Mind doing some free advertising for the taxidermist??? What kind of pics/info did you supply him/her??
I have caught many fish in my life. The most exciting? The next one.....

should have blurred out the destination of where I caught it and the date. I didn't think about that. I had my replica made by LAX Reproductions out of Wisconsin (Rick and Shannon where fantastic). The cost for the mount with shipping was $730 (mounting wood, lettering, etc.). You could probably get just the fish for a little over $500.

Replicas are the only way to go.
This 46inch tiger will grow and someone else will catch the fish of a lifetime at the same time, this fish is swimming in Lake Tapps
and munching on pikeminnow, thus, now Lake Tapps has a very healthy/large bass fishery. I think the term win,win is applicable
here.
