OREGON gets Tiger Muskie!

Post by bad esox » Sat Jun 29, 2013 6:20 am

Good news for all you Tiger-Anglers out there... Yes, it is true... Oregon will be getting there own Tiger Muskie fishery! Although the Tigers are small today etc... we hope to see these fish attain the size that our Tigers here in Washington State have and in turn produce yet another fantastic Tiger Muskie "Trophy" Fishery... Very cool...

Times have changed. I recall personally calling the Oregon Department of Fish and Wild Life back in 2007. That is when we formed Chapter 57, NW TIGER PAC, of Muskies, Inc. here in Washington State. I was back told then that this would never happen in the State of Oregon... Yes, times have changed indeed and that is good for all of us who love to pursue the mighty muskie...

I would personally like to thank the ODFW for taking this approach for remedying the perch issue within Phillips Reservoir. I'm hoping they will find this to be a very cost effective, efficient way of controlling a rough-fish population within a body of water...

** More about the June 26, 2013 release of Tigers into Oregon waters from Editor, Andy Walgamott: "NW SPORTSMAN" magazine:
