Saturday October 15 Merwin Lake, Chapter 57 closed out the 2011 season in fine fashion. The day began with a gray blanket gently hanging over Speelyai Bay hiding the calm morning waters. In October we're accustomed to rain and 45 degrees with a little wind just to spice it up. However after the fog burned off just before launch time and we enjoyed a gorgous fall day of sun and 60's. The Tigers have been feeding very well as of late, every fish we saw was fat and happy. Not a good sign for catching the beasts. Two fish were landed on the day, Miles and Pete managed to each land 36" Muskies to share winning honors. The two happy members of 57 were more than happy to split the dough, feeling pretty good to have coaxed a couple fatties into the boat. 14 fisherman graced the Lake and cast to every branch, log, stump and weed bed the lake had to offer. Everyone came together afterwards at Lone Fir RV Park in Cougar for a wonderful potluck dinner and BS session. Of course we swapped stories of another great season, the fish that were caught and those that got away. Much thanks goes out to all those whom worked hard to make 2011 season a memorable one. So now we can dream of next year when we will catch more wonferful Tiger Muskies here in the great state of Washington.

Thanks for posting the report on Merwin Doug and thanks for the link to all the pictures Jani. The new website works great for picture viewing. I discovered if I clicked on one of the pics it got bigger and then if I clicked in the middle right side of that pic I could look at all the pics enlarged instead of having to close one and click on the next to see it big. Glad everyone had a good time, some fish were caught and some new people joined the club. By the way, welcome to you new members.
