awards meeting

Post by Rosann G » Thu Apr 21, 2011 12:12 am

Looking forward to the awards meeting tomorrow night, we haven't seen those huge trophies they hand out now. Hoping to win one of the cool raffle prizes too, bought some tickets a couple weeks ago thinking we wouldn't be at the meeting but events changed and we think we will make it now.:bounce:

Hey Doug,

Tiffany's Resort over on the Eastside won the Cabinet, but they decided to donate it back to the Chapter for the Mayfield Muskie Days Jack Tipping Classic Tournament in July to help in part with the auction. So it should be interesting to see how that goes at the auction. I know for me personally I would love that cabinet. It is currently at my place wishing that it could be a permanent home. I will say it looks GREAT!!! It really is NICE!!! Well I will be out on Tapps at some point tomorrow morning, just trying to work around my son's friends B-Day party right now. I keep telling myself to keep my priorities in line LOL... Well good luck this weekend, it is suppose to be perfect weather for fishing so let's get out there and put some on the hooks.

Nate

Awards Ceremony 2011: So many people, so much noise! Bruce was great, as usual, with some exciting news about a new TM lake coming soon and the Raffle was really exciting - what a bonus to see Tiger Muskie anglers and a Sponsor win all the Mega Raffle prizes:
32 inch HD TV flat screen was won by Don Grove of the famous Grove/Zielke Muskie Team from Spokane. Congrats, Don!
The beautiful Oak Cabinet and Rod holder, donated by Tammy & Russ Baldwin, was won by Tiffany's Resort on Curlew Lake. As mentioned above, they have GENEROUSLY donated that back to the Chapter, Thanks, Doug & Lynn!
And the $100 Fred Meyer Gift Card was won by Chapter #57 stalwart, Pete Jensen.

Pete also won the Special Service Award for the Year for his dedication to the Chapter by volunteering for all the Adopt-a-Road cleanups and for his very generous support of every raffle the TIGER PAC has put on.

Sportsman of the Year was won by Miles McDonald, who has not only been a founding member of the Chapter since the first meeting, he has participated in many tournaments and generously provided his talents as Master Chef with his professional BBQ kitchen.

President Norm Dillon also presented Bruce Bolding, WDFW Warmwater Manager, with a check for $1,500.00 for the Tiger Muskie Program. MANY thanks to all who helped by buying a Mega Raffle ticket this year; it really goes a long ways to help the baby tigers.

And, Mike Floyd, also a Founding Member, had a hat trick this year, winning all three NW TIGER PAC Trophies:
Angler of the Year (most fish)
Tournament Champion of the Year
and Lunker of the Year: Biggest Fish.
Congratulations, Mike!!
(Check out the SIZE of those trophies, below - they are the same ones used by the PMTT back east. Professional Muskie Tournament Trail.

The other big bonus of the night was the attendance of Bill & Rosann Green, all the way from East of the Mountains. Founding Members were in abundance that night, as they served on the 1st Board for the Chapter, wrote the News & Views until this year, and and have been a big supporter of the Chapter throughout the years. Good to see you two!

It was a great meeting and we had fun seeing alot of old friends. Hope some of you fellow Chapter 57 members are going to make it to help with putting the new baby muskies in their lakes in May. Bruce talked at the meeting about wanting volunteers to help next month when they do it. We've helped in the past and are going to help this year because it is a blast to see them swim away to freedom to grow big so we can catch, photo and release them then. It's also fun to help the WDFW do their thing.
Congrats to everyone that won prizes and got trophies!
