RE:MAY 15, Silver Lake Open Tournament
It was a great time even though the fishing was tough. The people and the conversations made the day a memorable experience. I want to thank everyone for the great welcome to chapter 57 muskies inc. The tournement was one of the funnest i've fished in a long time. I can not wait till the next one on the Pend Oreille River, I hope everyone comes back for that one...Craig

Tiger Muskies are sterile.
You can't keep them under 50 inches:
Let them do their job: Eating N.P.Minnows

Spring turn over happens within the first few weeks of ice-out. When the water temps hit a uniform of around 40 degrees and mix with the warmer water in the deeper portions of the lake. The constant wind in this area also ensure turn over happens immediately in spring. Water temps last week were in the mid 50's.
Wonder why there weren't more caught?

It was a privilege and pleasure having you in my boat, Marc. We'll have to do that again sometime, maybe when I come back over to Spokane to get my boat back from the repair shop. For those who don't know, I had an "adventure" Sunday afternoon on my way to the Pend O'Reilles River for some pike fishing. My boat trailer fishtailed behind me, I went off the road, through a barbed wire fence, into a field, and hit a tree on the edge of the woods. I walked away without a scratch, and my tow vehicle had minor damage. I was able to drive it back to Seattle. But the boat was thrown off the trailer and had a hole punched in the hull. The boat is repairable, but the trailer was totaled. It was fully insured.

Wow... What caused the accident? Flat tire on the trailer or something similar? Glad to hear you came away unscathed.

I had a great time and enjoyed spending the day with you. Ya, I'd love to try it again. Maybe the tigers will be a bit more friendly so we can catch at least one.Don Wittenberger wrote:It was a privilege and pleasure having you in my boat, Marc.
