Green River bank fishing??

Post by onlymercury » Tue Nov 03, 2009 10:28 pm

Just wondering where some good spots are on the green to fish from the bank. I would prefer to be able to stand in some shallow water and fish but am willing to fish from a ledge if need be. I've heard the Auburn area was good??

yes auburn area can be good here is a link to a map that has some high lighted areas. Just zoom into the green around where the 18 crosses over and you will see them.

Yes around 18 is good. I usually fish 8th st bridge to just below issac evans park area. There is a few spots you can fish from shore and alot of area you can wade around in.
More fish please!

I like the Issac Evans area. Lots of good bank access.

I still feel really odd about fishing downstream of the accident though. His body has never been recovered.

I would also recomend the Auburn golf coarse/north green river park/Issac Evans park area, tons of good bank acces there.

Up around Auburn - black diamond road is also a good spot. Most spots here, wadders are required especially after this rain. There is a ton of pinks up there right now, and from my experience not a whole lot of chrome fish, but there are chromers there. A beutiful stretch of the green river as well.

There is some decent spots around the kent golf coase as well. This isnt a huge holding area for the fish, but the fish have to pass through here. Fish it on the weekends when the nets are out.

Fragger or frogger road also has a ton of fishing spots. The road parralles river for a while. Just turn South at the KOA and do some exploring.

112th and pacific highway is also a great spot durring low tide. I havnt been there in a month or so, but there should be some nice chums pushing through. But you will have the most luck when the nets are out.

Tukwilla comunity center and Fort Dent park also have decent bank access.

There is also a ton of bank acces in Allen Town as well. Same deal with the last 2 spots, its best to wait until the nets come out.

I agree with GPC, Isaac Evans Golf Course has lots of bank access. And a public restroom.

The public restroom is closed for the winter now. But they put in a honey bucket right by the public restroom. But hey...what ever works

Well you can fish any day really. But days that the nets are out more fish will be heading up the river. The nets take alot of fish out of the picture. Nets in usually not as good the days there are no nets.
More fish please!

LOL!!! I thought that by saying "when the nets are out" meant they were "out" in the water. I understand now.#-o

I probably missed it somewhere, but does anybody know how to find out when the nets are in or out?
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Go to the WDFW website and call thier general info number, they can tell you netting dates for any river in the state.
