within the last 2 weeks i have killed 2 coho anybody else getting them. the 1st pic is an 8 pound hen and the other is a 14 pound buck i got 2 thursdays ago

nice fish, i hope to get one soon. were yo ufishing out of the boat for them? what were you using? did you ever get those pics for me of the boat?

I got my first coho today in the Puyallup. The wierd thing was he fought like a pink. The pics are in the report when it gets posted.

they came from the snohomish from shore on dick nites

popped a few the last couple weekends out in the salt. no residents.

i lost a 10 pound coho yesterday

ive killed 20 ho's out of the puke already

Last night my son caught one and my neighbor's wife caught one out of the Skagit north fork. One was caught on sand shrimp, and the other on a shiny lure.

So far I have been targeting pinks in the Snohomish having great success using pink jigs (hootchies and marabous). Now that silvers a being seen, I would like to start targeting them. Colors? Jigs? Spinners? Drift setups? What are you're suggestions.

They should hit similar gear. Try Vibrax sizes 3, 4 or 5 in plain silver or gold or with chartreuse or pink. Spoons in silver or gold (shape dependent on water being fished). If plunking add some freshly cured eggs from the pinks you have been catching to your sand shrimp.

If the water is out of shape plunking or drifting eggs can be your best bet. If the river is running with a fair amount of visibility then hardware can be very productive. Dick Nites, Wicked Willies, and Miracle Lures in 50/50 (silver/gold), and silver or gold with a chartreuse or red tip will also work. Spinners such as size 3, 4, or 5 Blue Fox or Mepps in silver, gold, or a combination of silver or gold with chartreuse, orange, or pink also work well to name a few.

Hm does anyone know when the silvers start showing up in Dewatto River over in Hood Canal. I might have to go there and give it a try, I've never fished it before.

Dewatto? You are probably already too late. It's silvers run at the same time as the Quillicine on the other side of the canal. Mid/late August.

Coho running in the Hood Canal system run at the same time as all the other Coho that run in the Puget Sound basin. I have caught them in the "Canal" commercial fishing September, October and few stragglers into November.

I've been trying to fish dick nites. Can anyone help? what is the ideal setup for the lure and what action am I aplying to it? Also, I've seen pics of them caught on silver and white buzz bombs. Any thoughts on that?

You are not too late.They are just showing up there.Quite a few out in Dewatto Bay with a few in the river.I was just out there on Tuesday and the river just opened up to fishing on the 16th.Good Luck and Tight Lines

Thanks for the info on the Dewatto, I'll wait another week or two and try it. Does a decent amount go in that river or are there others that are better to fish for coho along Hood Canal?
