How far are you willing to travel? W. Wa. has some great streams but being in Skagit County I know nothing of the Puyallup area.

Almost all the rivers and streams in your area contain resident trout. In general skip the lower sections of these waters during the Summer months, you want to target the cooler and faster flowing sections. I can't stress it enough so I'll say it again, fish early. Once the sun hits the water the fish go into hiding, it gets even worse when the kids and young "adults" start floating down the river. Right now you the Green river is open and I'd give it a shot from Flaming Geyser park on up. I think the Nisqually and Puyallup systems open in July, just be sure to check the regs for dates, gear and size restrictions. Most of the rivers on the Peninsula are open for trout right now and you don't need to drive to the coast for some decent water to wet a line.

I love fishing streams too, and if you can find your way to Skate Creek near Packwood, you will not be disappointed.

You know, we were doing some driving around, I have heard stories of great fishing growing up, I don't know what milepost we stopped at, but I was able to park along the side of the road and walk up to the water. I want to say between milepost 50-55? It's been about 4 years since I was there. Some nice deep holes, I was using small roostertail, gold and brown. I didn't catch anything smaller than 12 inches. C&R.
Let me know how you do if you go. :bounce:

Have you ever fished Chambers Creek? I remember it being somewhat fished out, but, there a lot of nice pools that will still hold some decent sized fish. You can park at Chambers Creek apartments and walk down a gravel road to get to the creek.. I grew up fishing this water.
