Has anyone fished the Smith River in Northern California? I will be in Crescent City CA in mid-July and am told it is an excellent river for fishing. What is there? How do you fish it? Is there shore/river bank fishing? What type of tackle? lures? etc. Any suggestions and opinions are appreciated?

The Smith River in N.Cal still has some at times great steelhead runs many which can be pounded from the beach and a great Drift Boat river as well.
