I'm thinking of heading down to the Skoke on the 31st to target Chums with a friend. From your observations of the past years, is the Skoke around Halloween worth the drive from Seattle/Portland to fish for Chums?

Yes. Fished it last Sun and Mon and caught several. Should be going good by then. I'll be there on Sun

skok is usually a couple of weeks ahead of the puget sound rivers. Some of the best chum fishing for me was around halloween. And we have hooked some real MONSTERS in there. My husband hooked one that was easily over 20. And even after fighting it for 20 minutes it ended up spooling him. Everyone thought it was a monster king. And if all else fails hoodsport should be loaded as well.

Where is Skoke?(is that the real name of the river system)? How far drive from Seattle. This river closing just killed our annual birthday fishing trip with dad. I was hoping to save it with this river and hopefully hook on some monster chum.

Okay, went planning for a trip next week and went for a quick check on the regs. If were talking about the Skokomish in mason co. Its says to release chum on it. I was wondering and correct me if I'm wrong is this c/r area for chum? For me is not a big deal to c/r all day ling but for my dad this might be a little too hard for him to do knowing he barely get out and fish.
