Has anyone tried their luck at the Skokomish for silvers recently? How is the fishing and the crowds?

I was in the area last Sunday (not fishing, but going to a pumpkin patch).

Not a soul fishing in the river. Saw a few nets near the mouth.

Whether or not there were coho in the river, I don't know.

I can second that.
Friends whom have went have told me that they have only seen chums.

I stopped by the Purdy Creek Hatchery (George Adams?) They had about 20 coho in the pool, little tiny things, I doubt they were over 3lbs. Just like most the other coho this year.

Fished it 3x this week. Very few people on the river, spent a lot of time fishing completely alone. Tons of Chum some 15-18lbs, lost 2 nice Coho and did not see any caught or on the bank, also lost a Big King Wed, very bright 30+, broke my snap swivel off? Locals show up at holes off Purdy Cut Off usually 10am and 4pm flinging big lead and 10' leaders...read between the lines.
