Who returned my wallet?
I fished the highway side at Reiter ponds today. I wasnt aware that I had dropped my wallet until I returned to my car. Somebody had found and returned my wallet with all contents still inside. To whoever that was, thank you a million times over. Please pm me, my wife and I would like to take you to dinner.
Re: Who returned my wallet?
Lots of good karma for whoever returned it! Glad you got it back bud.
Fishing isn't a hobby, It isn't for fun. Fishing is life.
Re: Who returned my wallet?
You told your wife...........
Do you still get to go fishing?

Re: Who returned my wallet?
I was eating BBQ at the Bus in Monroe and a guy walked up to me and asked how I did fishing and about my old driftboat I had trailered. He seemed nice enough but a little odd, missing teeth, wearing camo pants, smelled and looked like he had not showered in a few weeks. He mentioned he had been fishing up at Reiter Ponds that day too and that he hoped River Karma would be returned to him since he found and returned a wallet up there. I don't remember what his name was but I would not forget his face or voice. Best description I could give is a Homeless Doomsday Prepper meets Steelheadoholic endlessly recounting his glory days.

Re: Who returned my wallet?
Springer, is thinking the exact same thing. The camo pants thing is a major clue.
Re: Who returned my wallet?
There were like 5 guys there with camo pants on dude.
Re: Who returned my wallet?
Yeah but camo pants, smelling and looking like that. Duncan lives in a van and uses a bucket as a toilet. He also is constantly talking steelhead. I bet it was Duncan.
Re: Who returned my wallet?
I don't know who the Duncan guy is but I was driving my big van and he was talking about living out of a van so that would make a little sense. He wanted to see the interior of my rig since it is a camper van but that seemed a little weird so I just showed him the boat and called it good. He definitely stunk, bad, not just like sweat or dirt, there was some weird odor coming off the guy.

I dont think I spelled the last name quite right but he was a real character on the web site...
I was up there Saturday and saw guy matching that discription and thought he looked out of place......not alot of homeless looking folk go fishing.
Re: Who returned my wallet?
This guy showed a lot of class returning that wallet. It might be nice to cut him a little slack and refrain from the insults.
Re: Who returned my wallet?
Fantastic event... I hope more people would do the same.

Re: Who returned my wallet?
There was a guy up there Fri. stopped by chatted for a bit. He was wearing camo missing teeth and walked his way out to main road wearing a pack.
Re: Who returned my wallet?
Not insulting the guy in the least. He is eccentric but I would count on him. In fact over the years of chance meetings I would count him among my friends. his toilet may be broken or non existent but I can assure you his moral compass is not. If I lost anything I would hope Duncan found it as he would likely go way out of his way to return it. He's a good guy and I trust himhim cause he's trustworthy. Glad he could spread some holiday cheer. For that matter. Merry Christmas everybody, may your lines be tight in the new year and this year close with happy memories.bigskyx wrote:This guy showed a lot of class returning that wallet. there must of been post deleted that had insults as all I see a few observations, no insults......bigskyx wrote:This guy showed a lot of class returning that wallet. It might be nice to cut him a little slack and refrain from the insults.
Re: Who returned my wallet?
On another note, there has been a lurker around the parking areas peering in windows. As I was parking the other day, dude kept looking into the trucks as we walked off. When we got out, he was like "the river's too fast". Stood there and watched him from a distance for like 10 minutes, really didn't want to walk away... Sketch.
Some of the good ones are odd, sometimes the bad ones you can't tell by looking.

Re: Who returned my wallet?
So it wouldn't bother you a bit to come here after doing a good deed and find people talking about how bad you smell? Some things are better left unsaid. I see Duncan has responded to a similar thread on P.P. but not here. No wonder.strider43 wrote:there must of been post deleted that had insults as all I see a few observations, no insults......bigskyx wrote:This guy showed a lot of class returning that wallet. I apologize I was not at all intending to be rude, I was just describing who I ran into as accurately as possible. The last part of my post was not needed, you are right about that, and I do need to work on making sure humor is not at the expense of others.
