Northwest Fishing Reports

Has anyone caught anything out of the lower Snohomish yet? I've been out the last few days with no luck, and without seeing any rolling or movement at all. With the amount of people on the bank and boats in the water I thought that they were in, but I was wrong.

I've been out twice.. notta-ting, only a handful of rollers seen and a few fish caught.. just not by me..

there is a pretty cool function on this site called "reports" where people have been reporting on the snoho too.. i check that sometimes..

It's been pretty slim pickins, I think I might take the boat out tomorrow since I got zilched on the skagit on Friday

Was actually thinking about trolling a Dick nite on a bait diver and go searching. Has anyone ever tried this? If so, any luck?

I have had good success trolling a dick nite behind a plug. I keep a single siwash on the belly of the plug and trail a dick nite about 5-6 feet back... Ive never tried it for Pinks, but real effective for silvers on the lower Snohomish...

That plug thing works, also you can just run a cannonball lead off a dropper and troll it that way. Prob run about an ounce or so.

Ditto on the dick/diver technique. I like to run a pink wiggler. Also, trolling a bit of prawn behind a spin and glo works great when you can't find the schools. It's a waiting game now, there are humpies up at Reiter already, so it's only a matter of days!

If you are on shore, take note of the skagit guys, fish some sandshrimp on a jig, with a sliding float. fish 4-5 feet deep, and get ready for any passing steelhead, humpies, kings, silvers, etc.

if your in a boat-3way swivel, 12" 4# test dropper to a 1oz ball. 12" of leader to a big als 6" fish flash, i like the black pearl. the 36" of leader to a small pink shasta tackle wiggle hoochie.

I know it seems like over kill for humpies but when there isnt a whole lot of fish its a good way to get the attention of the ones that are there. and when the silvers come in you'll get some lovely suprises

We did real well with your plunking (and from the boat) setup except we used home made "Wicked Lures" in pink with a 50/50 pink chrome spinner, tipped with prawn tail. Violent grabs! I may be trying the "Wickeds" for the metal too. One tip everyone should have is the little buggers hug the bottom. When you see them jump, they rocket from the bottom and dive right back down. If you're offering isn't with in a foot of the bottom, your chances drop to nil making that connection.

Went 4 for 5 yesterday below hwy 9. We found rollers and stuck with them. 4 out of the five came in an hour while we were with the rollers, then nada. There in there - just not thick yet
