Help at Puyallup River?

Hi, I'm new to this forum, and to fishing, honestly. I've been gathering various bits of gear over the past few months and I've had some small success with RB trout and perch, but I really want to catch some salmon. I live in Puyallup and want to fish the Puyallup River, but I could use some mentorship.

Is there anybody local who would be willing to let me tag along with them on a trip to the river, or who could at least give me a breakdown on what I'll need?

For clarification, right now I'm using a 7-foot rod, spinning reel, with 10 lb.-test line. I've caught trout and perch with nightcrawlers, Powerbait, and rubber worms. I'm ready to do it right.

corkies and yarn are my favorite method on the puke. Orange/Chartreuse are best color combinations from what ive seen.
