I just recently moved to Seattle from Chicago, and been hearing people talking about fishing for Pinks at the Spokane Street Bridge! I was wondering where exactly is it and how do I get there from the University District area. Also, I'm a bass fisherman, so Im NEW to salmon fishing, what is an easy rig set up, Ive been reading about using hoochies or Dick Nites, but im not sure how i should rig it. Oh, also, are there any restrictions with keeping the Pink Salmon? Thanks a lot and appreciate the help and tips!!

Be prepared for a ZOO.
Since it cannot get any more crowded, here goes:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&g ... &z=16&om=1
U-dist, I'd take I-5 S and take the W seattle bridge exit... but I dont drive so check that first.
Spokane St bridge has a sunup to sundown rule, so heed it or get a ticket.
Single barbless hooks only, no trebles.
Limit is same as Area 10 (thats what you mark on your card), 2 silvers, 2 pinks, 1 silver, 3 pinks, or 4 pinks. I believe chinook retention is over, but someone correct me if im wrong. Release foul-hooked fish.
Casting accuracy is paramount (at least, casting straight, not neccessarily far) - nobody likes it when you cross a line, and casting 1~2 feet off one way or another is probably gonna cross someones line. It would be nice to have a hoop net if you got one, but people usually share theirs. You may lose fish while waiting for a net however if this is the case.
Rigs, pink jigs, pink/purple jigs, buzz bombs, jigs with hootchies over it, dick nites spoons, spinners, etc.. pretty much everything seems to work, although from what I'VE seen jigs and buzz bombs are taking it. Just rig a jig, cast it out, and jig is slowly back to you. Buzz bombs, cast out, let it flutter down, pull it up, repeat.
From one bass fisherman to another (that took up this crazy slimer nonsense this year :compress: :compress: ), hope that helps.

Exactly what bpm2000 said. But I would recommend not using a buzz bomb. You will catch more fish but only a small percentage will be hooked in their mouth, pink hoochies are what I use. I also use attractors. Any brand in shrimp scent, I have used Pautske krill, Mikes lunker lotion, Smelly jelly shripm or special mix and mikes shrimp oil. I like the krill and the smelly jelly the best though. bpm2000 is right about the catch limit, but just to clarify 2 salmon plus 2 additional pinks. Also make sure to bleed them and ice them immediately.

dont you have to replace the treble hook with a single hook on the buzz bombs?

Yep only 1 hook is allowed and you have to pinch the barb.

that craziness they call the spokane st bridge is actually kinda fun if you're prepared for all those people. i hit it this past saturday for the 1st time and had a blast, got pissed quite a few times but still had fun and still caught fish, legally, i'm not a jerky yank yank fisher so my snags were minimal. its the jerks that act like they don't understand my engrish that have no respect, just don't stand next to them cuz they really have no respect! and you'll have a good time..

Been dealing with ****'s every time I'm out on the Snohomish river. 5 feet between me and a buddy and guys will walk right between both of us and start fishing. AND we have to sidearm cast because of overhanging trees. Guy tried casting a few feet behind me. Cause I was in a spot where I could cast overhead, so he decided he wanted that luxury too. Literally the asian guy is 2 feet behind me one to the side. Line is a few feet from my face.
You deal with a ton of goons out there. No avoiding it. It's all CnR for me but it's pretty annoying sometime when these people who either A: speak NO english or B: don't care about you or your line are crowding you and crossing your line and giving you crap for releasing fish.
Also, theres a ton of garbage out there. More beer cans, dick nite packages, any fishing packages really, are laying all over the place...

the crowd wasn't so bad today at noon, but the usualy noon time snag fest was going down, i did see 2 nice kings get hooked by the guy next to me, in the mouth, but they spit as soon as they got close to the net, i'm sure its a fun fight even tho u can't keep the kings there.. either way, it was a nice lunch time activity, way funner than eating.
the fish are still in big numbers there..
