Checked out the Wallace Wednesday and while the river came up a bit from the rain there were no Coho's. Fished with a guy who hooked and landed a big King but that was it. Floated eggs through the hole below the 2 bridge. We need substantial rainfall.

Checked today, all boot kings, and tiny cutts. Water is extremely low. Needs a blowout and a couple weeks.

I also scoped it out today. No flow, only fish I saw were moldy kings. Need a huge rain!

Went again this morning, usuall snaggers at the cedar hole... Moldy kings for them. I hooked on dark jack king on eggs and released him. Couple coho landed by others.

Nice job! I need to get up there. Been focused on the upper Snohomish so far. But I love small stream fishing

Maybe a little off topic, but does anyone know where to legally access the mouth of the Wallace? Any old grown over trails at mile marker "xyz"? I have seen cars parked off hwy 2 before by some big concrete blocks above a bend in the river but never had the chance to scout for a trail. Any info would be greatly appreciated and pm is ok as well if no one wants to post info in here

I think you are talking about what used to be a rest area. Unfortunately it is posted no trespassing by wsdot. Don't think they enforce it though. As far as I know there is no legal access to the mouth other than a boat. The mouth isn't what it used to be anyway, very shallow and flat, the deep pool is gone.

If people didn't read "we got these last saturday" and "hit the Wallace today and there wernt even the moldy kings left."
