@Scott, I could go either way; Sol Duc or Cowlitz. I think either one will produce for me if I go Monday. Trying to get Ron going. Lew can't make it. But if I do go, I'm staying the night before somewhere. Just want to hook into a big fish.

How did you do? :bounce: I hear the Cow is putting out some fish but I could be wrong, I know the guides are putting people on fish. The Nisqually is 15 minutes from my house so once the Kings/Silvers are in, that's where I'll be. I found a sweet honey hole there. :-$

We saw a salmon outside of Chambers creek in about 15-20 ft of water on Saturday. We had tried to fish all morning for Chinook, but had no luck, so we were playing around with the Sole and watching them take our bait in the clear water. My buddy turned on his GoPro camera to film the Sole, and along comes a Chinook to check out the bait. The presence of the 3 kayaks didn't bother him at all, and he swam around checking out the bait 3-4 times. Unfortunately, the Sole had already taken off the tail of the jig, and the Salmon wouldn't commit. After that, we put the Pt Wilsons back in the water and stopped screwing with the Sole. Unfortunately, no takes.

The video can be seen at YouTube

The first 15 seconds or so are terrible, but watch once the camera is actually in the water.

NOTE: Fishing for those Sole with a small jighead and 3" gulp would be LOADS of fun for your kids :)

Those 15 seconds are better than the Blair Witch Project though.

Great vid! That Salmon came out of nowhere, I bet seeing that pig got the adrenaline pumping. Those bullheads can get pretty annoying, they eat anything.

Well Jens since your asking I went 2/2 that trip. Both trout though one was only 8-10 range let it go of course. The other was a nice fat rainbow around 16 inch and around a 1lb and a half almost. Thing was a piggy. But you already knew that silly. I just got my wife a spin rod for the kings. She wants to try this year. I just got done pre tying all my leaders and Im ready to hit the skok. I got the itch for 20lb plus fish. Its been too long. But Ill miss the steelies for a lil while. Its been a good year for me on the steel but nothing like Jensen. I think hes practicing black magic or something. Anyways, Im ready, beyond ready. Oh I usually dont fish the nisqually, only went 2 times for chum, when do the kings show up. The river has been opened since the first of july.
More fish please!

I think the Nisqually and Skok are hot about the same time. Not as combat in the hole I fish, but I found a few more up and down the river. You know how we do it. :bounce:
