with the recent blow out I think the chehalis is going on 3 days of un nettable flows. We were there sunday checking it out. Entire maple trees floating down the river. One was even trailing nets! Hopefully these past 3 days will bring in a few more fish.

that's what I like to hear haha, nets filling up with tree branches and leaves and other debris scaring fish away from them, unfortunately it happen on the weekend and not like Monday or sunday night.

I don't know if it's true or not I was talking to a guy on the Sky said the Warden said they might close the river down in a week or two if the return doesn't get any better.

They won't. As long as tokul got their escapement (which they did) there is no reason to close it. Anything fish they get at this point are just excess.

Tokul Creek provides all winter fish for both Sky and Snoqualmie. Reiter just does the summer runs for the Sky.

Interesting, ya learn something new everyday. What do they do with the winters that return to reiter? Truck them to tokul creek hatchery?

We need to work out details on a trip. My buddy I was with the other day and me want to take a trip in your drifter for some wild fish once they show up in better numbers.

I don't know, we've been catching wild fish 3:1 on the Snohomish system. It's going to be a good season for 'em this year. If ocean conditions killed off all our hatchery fish, it's because the native steelhead ate them all. Maybe the fin clippers fell asleep on the job.

Yep its been this way all season, looking better and better for wilds, but the wilds ive seen arent no misclips, they are big and healthy!

I was being facetious. Even on the Sky and Snoqualmie the majority of the fish we have been catching have been natives. It's a fun battle though. I don't care if i take home another steelhead though, so it's been a lot of fun for us.

Ive had to quite using bait divers on the sky in fear of deep hooking a native! They have been thick since the water started dropping. Mag lip 3.5s and tadpollys have been putting 2-3 fish in the net every trip

Same here. Haven't been running eggs either. We haven't been taking pictures very often either. Bring them to the boat and pop them off.

Beautiful (but very technical to row) river. Very few people, and some amazing wild steelhead... Life doesnt get much better... Wild steelhead are amazing animals. Treat them with care and release them unharmed
