That's my favorite for Coho as well, I live right down the street. :salut: I think the best we can hope for is that WDFW looks at whats happening and opens the river's

Yes, you are legal as long as your hook has no point. I have confirmed this with the WDFW in order to practice spey casting in the off season. I have also been to many casting clinics that were held during river closures and in the off season.

I was at Occupy Skagit this year. This has been a successful movement for the simple fact that it brings about awareness. That awareness might have started to accomplish something this year (hold tight for a spring c&r season very soon!).

I will be there tomorrow.

As of now wdfw has not posted escarpment reports from last week. This makes me wonder why and what are they not telling us. I've kept up with escarpment reports and can't seem to remember when they haven't posted it on Thursdays. Now that the coup are running they sure are taking there time!

I always thought they were hit and miss on report timing but I haven't paid close attention in some time...

They can be hit and miss but if you look at this year up until this time last year they seem to be pretty consistent. Now it may just be my paranoia or just simple frustration but now that the coho started to show they decide to take their time in counting or just simply hiding what we all thought would happen and that is that the coho run is a lot stronger then they anticipated! I read somewhere that they have no way of determining how many actual coho return to the snohomish system except for returns to the Wallace and sunset falls but I believe it has more to do in the fact that the tribes do not net the snohomish so therefore no test fishery was applied. ( I could be wrong about the nets but as far as I know I have never seen any on this river) the Skagit and green both got test fisheries and why? Well maybe because the tribes have something to gain there!

Run of skagit wild coho was upgraded from 8900 to over 60,000. A similar number will come out for snoho system
Soon as well! Maybe wdfw will learn to not make just extreme rule changes and closures based on "forecasts" (educated guesses). Now get out and fish. Theres more coho than pinks :)

You must of been in the lower. The upper was super duper good near confluence. One of my clients went with tyler and hooked 30 in a couple hours

I fished below the hiway 9 bridge then went up to the Donkey farm. Didn't make it to 522 but I wondered if they were up there....
