HELP!! BROKE MY FAVORITE ROD
Today was anguish! I broke my favorite most versatile casting rod, and after doing a search on the internet, I came up empty on how to replace it! It is a North x Northwest IM6 Graphite Model IM856LC. Ya, I know it's not a high end rod, but it has done justice by me and I absolutely loved it. If anyone can give me a lead on how to contact North x Northwest, or if they even exist anymore, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks
Thanks

Bummer! Sorry man.
Re: HELP!! BROKE MY FAVORITE ROD
i think north x northwest rods was a house label for g.i. joes and i wanna say w.w. griggs made them (may have been lamiglas). if it was ww griggs they are effectively out of business last i heard.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.
Re: HELP!! BROKE MY FAVORITE ROD
A quick Google search seems to confirm this. Apparently there was a Lamiglas Nx Northwest rod, but imagine it would have a Lamiglas label on it somewhere. I'd guess you have the WW Grigg rod.spokey9 wrote:i think north x northwest rods was a house label for g.i. joes and i wanna say w.w. griggs made them (may have been lamiglas). if it was ww griggs they are effectively out of business last i heard.

Google North River Rods.

Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
Re: HELP!! BROKE MY FAVORITE ROD
Thanks guys, I found the WWGrigg site and they actually have a model listed that is identical to mine except it starts with GX instead of IM. But the sad news is, there is this statement posted under the "Warranty" tab:
I was misdiagnoed with Hemochromatosis (too much Iron) five years ago. I was told that I was rusting from the inside out. Three years ago I was re-diagnosed with MDS, blood cancer. We are told that it could be in remission in a year to three or four, or not. Below is a form letter that I have tried to respond with, so my ability to solve problems, find remaining tips in storage, is gone.
I am in a hospital every two days getting blood cells and still wheelchair bound, at this point. WW Grigg is not tecnically out of business, but close. Every consider owning a fishing rod company, started in 1953, Possibly "For Sale".

Dear Consumer, I'm sorry, I have Mylodisplastic Syndrome. Blood cancer and have just gone through a stem cell transplant. Through this illness, I had tried to keep WW Grigg alive, but most of our customers are gone now. We ran out of the tips for many of our rods, and what is left, is packed away in storage. We, also, have not been in production during this time, which is when we made extra tips. Many people loved our rods but this dieses, for all intensive purposes, has shut us down, for about the last five years. We still have the WW Grigg website ( http://www.wwgrigg.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) and there are some left over rods that can be purchased online. Shipping is within a week, based on where we are, whether hospital or home. Sorry, David Grigg. W.W. Grigg Warranty

Re: HELP!! BROKE MY FAVORITE ROD
It's gonna sound wrong. But you could patch it depending on where it broke. I recently broke a brand new Fetha Styx home water rod first time out. Ouch. Obviously no warranty, good thing it was cheap. Broke about a foot from the top. Cleaned up the breaks so they were clean cuts and roughed them up with sand paper. Went to lowes in the hardware section, found 3/16 brass tubing. And some 1500 tensile strength 5 min epoxy. Stuffed the tube with epoxy and jammed the broken stick back together. Still holding strong caught plenty of fish on it.
There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.
Re: HELP!! BROKE MY FAVORITE ROD
Gregs custom rods in lake stevens could probably perform a proffessional quality repair on your rod for cheap. He repaired my redington twice for $5 each time. 100% satisfied with his repair, good as new now.
hi my name is john, and I'm a fishing addict.
Re: HELP!! BROKE MY FAVORITE ROD
Thanks for the great suggestion. Since it was the top half that broke that sounds like the right way to go.jonb wrote:Gregs custom rods in lake stevens could probably perform a proffessional quality repair on your rod for cheap.
