Re: Winter Steelhead 2013/2014
don't think I've seen a nicer bunch of fish. That first one is as good as it gets! By the way, I'm pretty good on the oars.

Re: Winter Steelhead 2013/2014

Re: Winter Steelhead 2013/2014
Still catching a few hatchery steelhead. I'm on a streak of 7 bucks in a row. I need to start hitting some hens to replenish my egg supply!

Re: Winter Steelhead 2013/2014
Well something epic happened the other day... 18 for 24 on steelhead. All wild fish. Huge push came up and we were right on the pod. It was so epic we had 2 doubles and a TRIPLE header. Didnt even have time for pics except a few. The pod was gone the next day but boy was this one to remember

Re: Winter Steelhead 2013/2014
All those pictures from Forks a few days ago with the 20lber were fish caught from my driftboat, but i took pictures facing shore to keep the river a secret. Other than that, there really hasnt been many options with how tough the steelhead season has beenBrat Bonker wrote:ye where is your drifter danny, its been a while since you have posted any picks with it. sounds like quite a day to remember for sure, 24 hook ups is a great day in anyones book

I've fished the lower skagit from mine and killed it, I don't know what you're talking about.

Re: Winter Steelhead 2013/2014
Its different for steelhead than salmon, gotta cover lots of water, go back through holes at different distances from shore. Big river. Its doable but annoying and much less effectivenatetreat wrote:I've fished the lower skagit from mine and killed it, I don't know what you're talking about.

The sled is nice to have in a big river, and has its uses, but I do enjoy the peaceful ride in a driftboat on a small river way more. Nothing like a nice float on a coastal stream

That's what I want to hear. I catch fish wherever I go, and my hearing isn't what it used to be. When I build my sled, I'm going to be deaf outright.

Re: Winter Steelhead 2013/2014
Another good day. 7 for 9. Little bit of rain brought some MAJORLY fresh fish in, every single one with blue fins and backs. Sealice covered... We put another 20 lber to the net. 38 by 21 inches. Absolute bullet chrome monster. Even found a late bonus hatchery fish
