skagit humpie opener

Post by DannyL » Thu Aug 01, 2013 3:33 pm

Met the limit of 4, the boat limited 3 guys 12 fish plus some catch and release. I hit 13 total today. Not bad for the opener, found some really nice holes. 2 females 2 males. Biggest male 7.5 biggest female 4.6 all in all a good day!

Where is the next launch above I-5? I would like to drift down to edgwater park but do not know the skagit at all. Any help would be much appreciated.

Idk about the float time but I was out there today on the sandbar in mt Vernon and went 0-3 lol. Dang humpies kept coming off at the bank, no net. I'll be out there again tomorrow but with a net. My buddy went 2-2 another guy had 3 and when I left a guy wrangled 1 in. Nets came out today so there should be more fish tomorrow

I haven't seen the skagit lately, but don't sit around waiting for it to get crystal clear. The murkier water makes these fish aggressive, so if there's even a foot of visibility I would be fishing!
