Yellow Spots on fish
One of the hens I caught today had ta dark yellow circle right below its gill plate about the size of a nickel...any one know the reasoning for it? It was an obvious spot.

Re: Yellow Spots on fish
I've noticed the same thing on a lot of my hatchery fish as well. Most of the time it is a yellow spot near the belly though.

Yeah the fish we were getting this weekend had them all over the belly area, I was wondering the same thing

More than likely a heal spot from a lamprey. I found a dead lamprey in the river on saturday.

Tape worms possibly. Cook them on high heat.

Yes it might not get entirely rid of the worms.

I'd say cut one of the spots on the fish. Use a sharp probe to look. Tapeworms sometimes leave a spot on the skin. Tape worms are something you dont want to eat. With water temps being a lil higher it could make the fish more apt to get worms. Be careful. Bodo you must like your pasta al dente.Worms too.
