Snohomish River Chum

Post by snoco » Sun Oct 28, 2012 6:56 pm

Does anyone know when the chum are really going to be pushing up the Snohomish through Lowell? Usually if the fish are there, Lowell is lined with cars and Rotary is full of boat trailers, but I haven't seen either. I've seen Chum rolling on the Sky so I know they're moving up now, but a guy at the Triangle told me that they aren't even in full run until mid-November. Just curious, I'm not really familiar with fishing the Snohomish, I used to be a strict Stillaguamish fisherman, until I moved to Everett.

Right now with the water the way it is, they're mad dogging it to the upper river right now. It's just going to pick up and get more a more numbers. Peak is going to be mid november.

They are there, just search around. Although the peak is still to come me and my buddies have been having some of our best chum fishing already  There are half dead, moldy monster chum already waiting to die.
Granted we have been up on the sky and wallace. But im sure they are down there as well.
Good luck on the dog hunt [cool]

What rigs/bait do you find work best for Chum? Drifting eggs, corkies and yarn or blue fox? And I heard it's no good for table fare, so do you just catch and release?
