Newman Lake Tomorrow

Post by Lotech Joe » Tue Oct 05, 2010 4:00 pm

Goin' to Newman tomorrow, probably for the last time this year. Anybody want to join me, I'll be there around 10:00 A.M. and rowing the south 1/4th of the lake. I'll be in a 12' jon boat. I just need to go float my boat.
Where you go is less important than how you get there.

The water was almost crystal clear. No wind to start and the lake was like a mirror.
We fished the lily pads across from the launch for 3 hours. Then the wind started.

We went with the intention to fly fish, but wound up spin fishing. We used roadrunners with grub tails, lizards, power worms & the like. We saw carp several times, but nothing else. When the wind picked up it made it too difficult to fish without an anchor so we left.
