Northwest Fishing Reports

Hey wondering how many of you have had home owners yelling at you about being to close to there docks or bulkheads and if anyone has a link that states how when and where. I was fishing today on Sawer and had a home owner freak out. It took all I had not to jump on shore and have my own episode of the ultimate fighter.:rambo: I know it`s there dock but the water is owned by the county,city,state etc. Just wondering so next time this happens I can climb out of the boat and show them.

This has been going on forever. Just keep fishing don't argue when they finally reach the blowing point and say "i'm calling the cops" pull out your phone and tell them never mind I'll do it for you. If you can get them to yell while on phone PLEASE PLEASE press the 4th degree assault charge that they just committed.

I had one dude go off on me when I was only about 15 years old and fishing out of my float tube. It really pissed me off and he was straight up threatening me with bodily harm. I yelled back at him and just kept fishing. I have snagged hooks on docks before and got out onto the dock to unhook it; not because I wanted to save my lure (which is always nice) but also for the homeowners safety. If some a-hole came out and yelled at me to bugger off I would be more than happy to snap a couple treble hooks off on the dock, lol. I try to mind peoples property and not chop up their vegetation, but as stated above, they don't own the water. I hate that "I own everything" mentality. Unnatural.

Wow g-man I went back and read each one of those posts. That`s pretty cool walakes is like the union brother hood we all stick together. I didn`t realize this has happened to so many other fisherman. First time ever for me.

Was it a short small dock with a flower pot on each corner of the end of the dock, back in the 'boot' at the north end? Was the guy sorta short, slightly stocky about 35-40 years old? That guy was the first guy to tell me not to fish his dock. I talked it over with him and he gave me permission to fish his dock, and to walk on his dock if I ever get a hook, hooked on his dock. This happened to me on Fri. a week and a half ago.

On Lake Shoecraft-Snohomish co. A homeowner and I exchanged words then he yelled up towards the house as this big guy came running downto the shoreline and started throwing boulders at me- the size of grapefruit, thought I was gonna die!! They were coming within a few feet of my boat, like cannon balls. I got the heck out of there, was gonna call the sherriff but thought how would I give an address or even handle a situation like that. I was completely freaked out, heart racing, shaken.

rjn,..BassFanatic and I were in the North shallows @ Sawyer last week pitchin some beds and a Lady walked out and said "gentlemen, you're supposed to be 20 feet from my dock when you fish",..we did like Madagascar and just "smiled and waved" and moved on,..for us it's better to not confront and just "smile and wave",..HaHa,..we know it's not "their" water but sometimes silence is golden!

Bomber I tried the smiling and waving part but the guy had it out for me he was relentless.

If you feel threatened, I really think you should report the incident. Left unchecked, people who do this kind of thing get even more bold and may end up hurting someone. Get to a safe distance and take pictures, or even better, video of the situation and call the police. You'd be surprised at how quickly they can figure out the offender's address.

I was on Lake Washington this past weekend and trolled, extremely close, past many of the docks in Medina, including Bill Gate's, without incident. If a guy worth billions can respect the law and put up with folks fishing within close proximity to his dock, anyone can.

rjn,..I agree with G-Man,..definately if you feel threatened report his @$$,..we shouldn't have 2 tolerate this from anyone,..if you were "on" his property I can see his point,..but cmon,..your on "public waters" and he has no right 2 threaten anyone or make them feel as though they are threatened,..there are laws that govern that kind of treatment and you shouldn't stand for it,..by all means REPORT~REPORT~REPORT!

If I felt threatened I would have reported him. I`m pretty sure it`s a weekend cabin. If you head south from the launch staying close to the launch side the first cove you come to and the first house/cabin on the left. It`s run down and there is a bunch of pads and logs right before his dock. There`s only two houses on that island. One with a real nice pontoon and the other is his. Just for those of you that want to know.

I fish that spot/area LOTS of times. I've only seen someone there once. This past summer at the brown 'new wood' house with the balcony mid island, he was working LATE into the night on the pontoon boat doing what I couldn't figure out. The small white house with the cement bulkhead out by the north point I haven't seen anyone there for about 10 years. Then there is the good house on the south point that I've seen people there before and they've never said anything. The logs and larger pad field is on the west side of that island out from the outlet stream.

Jesus. If I was that situation, I might have had to call the cops to report an individual has been shot.

My old man would have told me to take him over to the dock and start kicking but. Times have changed sence then. I have never had this happen to me so I cant say what I would do. A paint gun in the boat could be a good thing when they start on you, start shooting paint balls not at him but the dock just change the color of his dock. Then tell him your sending him a bill for the paint job.

is this the house on the south end of the lake? come out of launch take right down south side until you hit the first cove before going around the island?

love these people:^o . lol. have had my fair share of words with this house but i was polite everytime. i do make it a point to fish there dock. come to think about it i have been robbed twice at this lake. both times they broke in and stole things like tools and left hand fulls of coins. second time they broke in and just mainly sucked gas out of my tank. i had seen an older couple with walkie talkies but thought that a 60 year old couple wasnt there to rob. with all this going through my head and reading your story i would bet, excuse me, my opinion is that its some homeowners from the lake as well. I will continue to search for the thieves or homeowners that mess with the cars in that launch!

When someone throws objects at you CALL THE POLICE!! they are assaulting you. stand up for your rights as bully's will take them from you. one reason that i open carry my side arm when i visit this lake. be safe and be smarter
