I will be staying in the long beach area for a week here soon and was looking at google maps and came across several ponds in the area. Anyne know of any good access areas for either bank fishing or launch a small boat or pontoon? Also going towards illwaco is a small body of water on the left, anyone know if it is salt or freshwater?

Thanks
BMD

Derek, Hit loomis lake, Tons of bass! If the wind is not howling beyond control I promise you will get some decent bass.

Another option is surf perch. There have been a few threads started regarding fishing for them, here are a couple.

When you fish for surf perch, your going after great table fare! With the gear you use, they won't put up a spectacular fight but you'll know they are there. About the only other fish you'll pick up on a consistent basis from the shore there is flounder.

Loomis is good,at least so I've heard. We also have property in Ocean Park but have never fished any of the area
lakes. Let us know how it goes.
Good luck
