American Lake Smallmouth

Post by Nick_Barr » Tue Mar 23, 2010 9:44 am

Hey guys,

American Lake is starting to show some action. After talking with a friend a couple of weeks ago, the water is slowly warming up and the smallmouth are absolutely FAT!!!

Below is a 4Lb. 11oz. smallmouth out of American Lake from this past weekend on a Hot Lips Crankbait in about 20 ft. of water. Water temps are in the mid-high 40's and stable. This was the first fish out of the new Alpha 199 Legend and i'm glad it was a good fish!!

I went to the new dock at lunch, tossed on a roboworm carolina rigged- nada. Seen several nice 'bows breaking the surface. Not a bad day out, not a lot of boats either.

I don't know how deep the water is near the dock, but about 20-30 feet is where you are going to find those smallmouth this time of year. I am open to booking some trips on American Lake through mid-May. WL.com members would recieve a $50 off American Lake, which comes to $200 for 8-10 hour day for two people!

Sounds a lot like the fishing on Lake Washington. I love using Hot Lips there. They dive right down to 20' with a light troll.

Nice Picture Nick. Looks like you have perfected the "Hold the fish and Show the gear Photo." Nice to see they are biting out there. Here's a cheers to many more.

That's a great deal for two anglers, thanks for offering it to the WL.com members.
