Hit LK Washington today and had a good day of 5 fish total. I got 4 and John got 1 plus a BIG cutthroat. Caught fish in 3 different spots and came from 46 to 55ft. Worked the Rev rig most of the day as plastics just didn't produce. Best fish was a 4lb 3oz.

I know you said the best one was 4.3 lb. But you said you had a BIG Cutt. Did you get a length/Weight on the Cutt?

I was on the lake at 7 am and first fish by 7:20. Picked up John at 7:30 and had 3 more fish by 10:00. Hit a few other spots and finished up north and caught the big one 4lbs 3ozs at 12:15. Fizzed the fish and took 3 of them to UW fishery biologist who is doing a study of fish in Lk Washington. The big cutthroat came around 8am at the end of the Gene Coulon Log boom in 48ft of water with the rev rig. It was around 27in long give or take an inch. Didn't weigh it though.

So today I set out to actually try and catch squawfish for the UW grad student that is doing a study. Unfortunately, I had 7 smallies and 1 Rainbow get in the way. The smallie bite was good today. I put 3 in the boat in the first hour. Things slowed down as I fished area's that I have caught squaws before. Headed over to the log mill area and put the rainbow and 2 more smallies in the boat, so limit by 10am. Fished some more squaw area's with nothing, and finish up with 2 nice smallie's at 3lb's apeice to finish off the day. Even with fog and sunshine both today the fish were running real deep. 48 to 63 was the depth's .
Headed to Silver lake on Thursday and will try to get the Largie skunk out of the boat.

It's part of a larger study that is looking at natural / invasive species predation. Her's is a small slice of it, it will be looking at affects of climate change, damming of rivers, invasive species, etc. She is looking at predation rates of natural species ( Squawfish) vs. invasive species ( smallies) on different food chains.
