Northwest Fishing Reports

I'm going out in the morning and wanted to know where I should start with my topwaters. At the wind-blown end of the lake, there is a weedbed that I can catch fish at least every-other cast and is only about 2-3 feet deep. They aren't anything over a pound max but it gives me somewhere to start. Should I focus on the main lake or hit the shoreline? I wanted to get out tomrrow because of the approaching front so maybe the fishing will heat up!

Raining/windy = try a propbait like a Tiny Torpedo, Devil's Horse, or try a jitterbug. Be sure to give a buzzbaut a try.

I'd start at the outside edge of the weedline, and work my way along it.

Then I'd cast all over the top of the weeds using the same baits and spinnerbaits, be sure the spinnerbait has a trailer hook as when the fish come up out of/thru the weeds they have a habit of short striking and a trailerhook will catch lots more.

I'd fish at the end where the wind is blowing into. But I'd also try the calm waters just in case there are fish who don't like the wind.

Be sure to watch the path/pattern of the wind currents as they go around something like a dock, point, trees in the water, ect.

Oh ya, try a Spook in Bull Frog, and a clear Baby Spook. :-)

I find fish right on the bank or very close to it at first light till 10 or so. If its sunny hit cover. Over cast edges of weed beds. Baits frogs and the spook or buzz. If I were there Jig.

most of the lakes i fish are almost always pancake in the morning. so if i use any topwater at all its a buzzbait or a popper. i have been stuck on pitching jigs though, seems like they always put more fish in the boat.
