Lake WA Seward Park

Hi Everyone,
Are you familiar with the launch off Seward park Ave in Seattle/Renton? I am considering going out this weekend with my boat and this is a nice open launch with easy access. The only thing I am not sure of is the habitat, water depth, etc. If you have any advice for this area you can share I'd really appreciate it. I have a small 12ft alum vhul and it can be very difficult to get around this lake so I want to make sure I don't waste my time if this is a notoriously bad fishing spot.
I hope to pick up a lake map before the weekend to help out as well.
Thanks,
Justin

I've caught bass in both directions from the launch. Mostly to the north tho.
What would you be fishing for?

the launch is nice but make sure you lock up your rig .also park your trailer in a spot where you can get out ,this place fills up fast on the weekends get there early to avoid the busy ramp traffic go early leave early 5:30 till 10:00am is a great time . this lake gets rough because of the heavy traffic and could be an issue with a 12 ft boat so be prepared! if you go left on the way out you can work those docks all the way down to the park . stay out about 20 to 30 feet in frount of them. i talked to some divers removing milfoil a couple of days ago and they have noticed lots of smallies cruzin out in front of the docks. keep your eye out for rogue waves also. ill probably be out there myself so maybe ill see u out there:compress:

LM or SM. Are you fishing near the docks? Recall what the depth is there?

thanks for the info flippinfool, indeed this lake can make a miserable trip on my boat. I like to stay near the shore/docks and definitely get out early to avoid the larger boat traffic.
If you see the little red boat, swing by and say hi =]

Didn't mean 2 highjack your thread jfo,..I bass allot on WaWa,..you should do fine if you cruise the deeper docks within 15-20 feet,..like Flipper said head North/Left from the launch and hug the shoreline,..work the docks on your way to Seward Park and make sure you hit Martha Washington on the way up got some decent SMB there,..use Crankbaits-Spinnerbaits-Buzzbaits-Chatterbaits-T-Rig Worms/Creatures,..pretty much whatever your confidence is in,..I've hit SMB on all those applications near docks,..have fun!

A couple weeks ago I checked it out and the card machine was down and you had to put your money in some sort of a pipe bolted to the ground.

Thank you guys for the info, I took my buddy out Sat morning and although the bite was scarce the water was perfect and the little 12 footer held up well. Went out from 6 to 1 caught 2 little perch and a smb and nearly hooked a seagull on a sammy :O.

The bite was real tough on Saturday, I was fishing the ABA tourney and weights were definitely down on Saturday. Sunday was better fishing. When the weather turns overcast and cooler in the summer like this weekend, avoid the docks and hit the grasslines / weedlines in 18 to 20 ft.

Yeah, we figured out the bite on Saturday afternoon, and was able to use my experience on the lake to parlay that into a winning bag on Sunday. We had 2 big fish on Sunday and the rest were 2.5lber's. We caught about 15 keeper bass on Sunday. With most going about 1 to 2.5 lbs. The dock bite was completely gone, and there was a deep water bite as Marc Marcantonio was 2nd by going deep. 25 to 40ft is where he caught most of his fish.
