my favorive is a spro black rainforest frog i trim the legs about a half inch and i can walk it just fine ( also love the R2S frog)

i also like to add rattles and maybe use a sharpie on the bottom

this has quickly become my favorite way to fish ( kind of lol)

I keep it pretty simple CMan.
Spro Bronzeye Brown/Black, right out of the package, no mods for me. Dez was throwing the black/yellow combo and that's my #2 fav color.

Find the thickest nastiest stuff you can and throw it in there. I prefer Duckweed and millfoil, stuff that your frog leaves a trail in when you retrieve it. But we didn't have that on Sammamish so we targeted the Dollar pad fields and wood instead.

I can't emphasize enough how important it is that you have the right gear! Even with my setup we still had to go in after the fish we had hooked up, because once they get down deep in the pad stems, you aren't gonna horse them out. Dez lost 3 really nice fish, and I lost one that would have topped the 4.6 I landed, but honestly, even with my 36v 109lb TM, I just wasn't able to get back in quickly enough to get them out of the pad stems. If Dez had been using the same setup as I had or something comparable, I'm pretty sure he would have won the derby on sunday, because the fish he broke off was BIG! Tight Lines! -Dave

Dont attempt to play football unless you got a helmet and pads on , yes you will get hurt !! Due to lack there of the correct set up cost me some really nice Bass recently .. If I can offer any advise , once your set up for the frog bite ! after the strike you better pull that fish with everything you got . Yes you may have bruised ribs , sore hands , cramps , and maybe a little blood .. But if you can get that fish in the boat IT'S ALL WORTH IT !!

DavidW and BBD I know how you feel losing em in the thick stuff. Last week I had a good one 4+ in the pads wrapped up in the pads. Fishes mouth was acutally sticking out of the water hung up with the pads. Before I could get there it shook off. Next hook-up I set the hook and completely swung him outta the pads and into the boat.

For anyone that has never experienced frog fishing give it a shot. The bites can be AWSOME! And you can throw frogs in places other than pads. You can skip t-rigged frogs under docks/cover. Or swim frogs over cover so don't just stick to the pads.
