Northwest Fishing Reports

I have my Dad coming in town for Father's Day and want to take him to a good lake where he can hook some Bass. Anyone have any suggestions on where to go?? I am new to the area and don't fish for Bass and don't know where to go. I have read reports on a few (Long Lake(Spokane), Newman) but want to be sure to go somewhere where there is a shot to do some good!! Please let me know......Thanks everyone!

I would suggest, Hayden Lake in ID. Not to far from Spokane and has both Largie and Smallies. Top water bite early in the morning is very good this time of year.

I would fish Long if it were me and my dad...and it will be me and my dad on Sunday. That is if my trolling motor parts show up this week. Hayden is good too and so is CDA. I guess some of it would depend on your boatability (new word) or if you have one or not.

I am going to add some so take a dart, throw it at this post and fish whatever lake the dart lands on. All these bodies of water are fishing well right now.

Long Lake
Hauser Lake
Twin Lakes
PO River
Newman
Silver
Liberty
Eloika
Snake River
Moses Lake

I could go on but you get the picture. Any of these bodies are fishing well and you would not be disappointed with any of them. The PO River is fishing well and you have lots of Pike to catch if you are into that. All others are pretty much Bass fisheries with the exception to a few which also hold Pike and Musky. I assume you have a boat? If not then that limits your options.

I would have a hard time believing you could go to Long right now and come away skunked. The smallies are really biting and there's always that chance for the bonus pig largemouth even if you're targeting the smallies.

And yet two people have recently posted saying they did not do well there. Remember everyone, FLP acording to In-Fishermen of old. Know your FISH, Know their LOCATION, figure out the PRESENTATION.

The SMB are acutally kind of shallow right now in Long, fish 2 to 15 feet near structure.
