Spencer, Limerick, or Island lake might be a good bet. Island has smallies as well, tho few and far between...for me anyways. To be honest...every lake in the county has bass. Spencer has some hawgs tho. But you never heard that from me.

I fished Spencer with my grandpa (lives on Harstine Island) and it's a pretty cool lake. If you want trout or want to find them, we caught them trolling through the deepest part of the lake after you get around the second point.

Tried a search for Bob Johansen reports. He lives in that area and is an expert in the areas lakes. Unfortunately the search feature won't allow me to zero into counties, but you know we still have a county index so you could check lakes reported on for Mason.
Here's Bob's fishing reports:

My better half's family has a lake cabin on Panther Lake (immediately left of the launch - say hi if you see my bassboat tied up there), and I've caught some real nice largemouth out of there. Haven't had a chance to fish Tiger Bob, but always suspected it had to have Bass too, given it's right next door to panther!

Bob, I'm real close to both but I've mot fished either except for trout years ago. I've been told there's bass but I can't say Ive seen them. Wouldn't surprse me tho. Could be like the smallmouth rumor at Howell. Should have put "nearly every lake" :thumleft:

Thanks for the help guys! I decided not to venture into mason county and fished a lake I never fished before!
I managed a small bass and a 4lber that came unbottuned at the boat before getting brutully kicked off the lake by mother natures sudden wind storm!

That sure was a brutal wind storm ! I got a text saying it was blowing good in federal way right when I rolled up to a lake in Kent. 40 mph gusts maybe, and the swimmers were running for home, it was perfect timing. I fished until dark with no bites.
