I have never fished that lake but, In my opinion you have a better chance of catching a nice fish if you look around for beds right now. You are using a float tube so you are pretty much stealth, which is a good thing, they should be hanging out in shallow water.fishingboy wrote:Ive fish lake ballinger and i was wondering if is there 3-10 pound bass in the lake... if so where is there best place to fish on spawn and post spawn season? Bass are opportunistic feeders,..wherever, whatever and whenever something wanders into their domain they WILL eat it!

Check for beds where the water has a good slope. From shallow to deep fast this is where you can find the pigs.
Are you hung up again!

Hey yal. I'm new in here and just moved to spokane 2 months ago from louisiana. I have bass fished all my life and I'm wanting to go fishing but dont know where any good places are or where to go. I dont have a boat so i'd have to fish from shore. I dont mind fishing for other species. Its all fun! So if anyone can help me out that would be great! Thank ya!

I don't usually say things like this..... but IMHO Lake Ballinger sucks!!:-" I know you are limited by transportation. But I grew up within blocks of Ballinger, and it was a week lake in the 1970's and I've been there many times in the last 10 years and it is 95% a put and take stocked lake. Yeah, there probably are a few bass here and there, but not much to write home about. Since you live in Shoreline, and the bus route is aurora ave. bus it on down to Bitter lake, 130th st.
LOTS of shoreline access. You can catch rock bass until your sick of them, and there are LMB in there also.
If you can get a ride, go up to Martha lake on 164th Alderwood Manor. at least two public docks, maybe 3.
Of course you can stay on that same bus,, right on down to Green lake. One of the best lakes within the city limits in my opinion. Triploids, German Brown trout. Put your mind on the internet and find some home made Carp dough bait recipes, get busy in the kitchen:chef: and go for those massive carp.
