I would fish the senkos weightless and key in on staging or bedding areas mainly bassy looking areas.. (mainly this time of the year is site fishing:-" )

Try tossing your Senko/Split-Tail towards the back of a Bass-Bed and just wiggle it periodically,..I might use the White Hollow-Belly instead so you can see it from a distance thus not spooking the Bass,..keep your weight about 6"-8" away from your hook or even lower,..I tried this at Sawyer per JWerner's instructions and received allot of action,..Bass picked it up and moved it quite a bit,..after he was pissed enough I flipped a Blk/Blu Jig with a Black Worm Trailor and "BAM"! You might want 2 bring a Jig 2!

so your saying cast it on the other side of the bed and let it sit for a while and give it a little bit of movement or should i cast it on the other side and reel it in while twitching it?...and also how would you fish it weightless i dont think it would have enough weight to cast ?sorry just a little new to the whole bass fishing usually a bobber and worm kinda guy](*,)

Don't fish it weightless buy some small Drop-Shot weights maybe 1/4 oz and cast 2 the back of the Bed farthest from you and just give it movement,..if I were you since you're new at this just use a 1/2 oz Blk/Blue Jig with a Blue Worm Trailor or something similar,..your gaol is 2 Boat some Bass and this will be easier for you,..brand isn't that important just make sure you tie it on well,..flipp it right on top of the Bass-Bed and wait,..if the Bass spooks just be patient he'll be back,..if the Bass is holding near the Bed it's most likely the Male,..reel in your Jig and flipp it again,..keep doing this until he picks it up with his mouth and moves it or he just might be agressive enough 2 bite it,..be ready cause it happens fast,..the key is 2 piss him off enough for him 2 hit it hard,..stay far enough away but close enough 2 see your Jig,..that's about it,..if you do catch the Male CPR him right away,..and who knows you might even get BIG-MOMMA! Kick-Sum-Bass!

how much perticular space do you give in between your bait and boat. seems like casting out and trying to keep an eye on your bait would be kind of hard?

some say that there are always bass around the bed, if they get spooked will they still come back to the bed or will they even leave? also can you tell the difference between the male moving it by the tail and when the whole thing is in his mouth. just trying to get some knowledge, dont wana get skunked!

When you find a Bed chances are you'll spook the Bass away,..circle around and wait about 30 feet away for a few minutes,..then stealth in for a closer look,..if you do see a Male holding then flipp your jig on the bed and wait fo a few seconds,..reel and repeat the whole thing again,..keep doing this till he gets mad enough 2 bite the jig,..in between time he might lipp the jig and move it off the bed or blow water at it,..just be ready and leave a bit of slack in your line,..reel down and set the hook just like a pro! Smack-Some-Bass!

If you want to catch a big bass, dont fish for the bed bass. When you find a bed ease up and see where the bed bass is looking. If the bass sees you first he will look at you so come in with the sun to your back. He will be looking at the female bass or in the area she is in. Once you have seen where the female may be back away from the bed I move out 25-30 feet and cast your jig up to where the bed may be and bounce your jig slowly back to the boat. If you want to see a cool hit use a spook and work it fast in the bedding areas. The female bass will bite and feed all the time. Thats why there bigger !! While the spawn is going on C&R!!!!!! so we all have bass to catch for years to come. If the male bass looks to be 3-5 lbs the female is way bigger around 6-10 lbs. Yea it sucks to fish all around the bed with out a fish to show so, I move on and come back later. If you always caught fish they would call it catching instead of fishing!

Hi, if you look under Features you will find 50+ stories I have written about bass fishing and all the ways to use the different baits and lures. These stories are meant for beginners to intermediate bass anglers with enough new information to help even an advanced bass fisherman. Look under Bruce's bassing' essentials for the stories and you will find just about anything you need to know. Good luck and enjoy, Bruce Middleton
