I hit Boaters World this week to snatch up some closeouts and the sales guy talked me into spending 2 bucks on a big bottle of Fool-A-Fish. If you've never heard of it, you can read up on it here -

I was skeptical since it's not "scent" - it's a spray that enhances the amount of UV light that is visible coming off the lure, making it more visible to the fishies. I figured for 2 bucks I'd give it a shot.
This stuff actually works. I was pleasantly surprised.
I was at Dolloff, tossing firetiger cranks along the weedline looking for bass. I sprayed F-A-F on one of the cranks (a Rapala jointed firetiger) and kept the other identical lure clean. I would cast 10 times with one, then use the other 10 times, etc. In the course of an hour I landed two off the F-A-F crankbait and had 7 bites that missed the lure. The clean identical crank, being fished with the same technique and speed, only had two bites, neither solid enough to hook.
It's not the most scientific of tests, but I can't deny that I got more action off the lure with this stuff on it. And all the times I've fished Dolloff, I've never had that many hits off a crankbait.
Anyone else here ever tried this stuff?

Was doing a little research on this product and found out it was invented by a doctor in Spokane.
The guy's name is Dr Jeckle. No lie.

Here's some good reading on the spray -
http://www.foolafish.co.uk/about.asp
John Keizer from Salmon University Fishing Institute in Seattle is mentioned there, advocating it. Looks like that may have been a good $2 investment hehe....
