Out of our Controll Man ..

Well with Boating season starting this coming Saturday and with Opening Day last week , I thought it would be a good to have a small chat about who we all share the lake with. I recently read a comment were a angler was out fishing recently on one of our local lakes . The angler seemed to be a little fustrated at a few other boats on the lake that day . As it turns out there was Bass Tourney going on that day and from the sounds of things there was alot of wake , loud motors, crowded fishing holes etc . It made me think about a few things that i would like to get everyone personal perspective on . Everytime im out you cant bet your bottom dollar that there is a jet ski runner thats just waiting for me to make a cast before he starts running back and foward (theres Dez lets play). There is also most likely local Bass tourney going on since on wa wa most of the time , so guess what yep all the community holes are overtaken (beat it dez i got hear first).

With this being said i have a choice to make as a angler , do i allow all these demotivating factors take toll on my day ? NOT AT ALL MAN! Just like i have express to a few dock owners , You Dont Own the lake you just happen to live on it bro ! lol If i let all the things that happens on the lake affect my small window of time (weekend warrior) I would never have fun based on the times i have to fish. Point and case I will never forget last year on Sammamish in mid june , myself a few close buds went out that day a just hammered those smallies alll day long . We each had more than three limits that had all been released . The lake was super packed that day , Everyone that had anything that floated was on the lake . Not to mention it happen to be one of those 98 degree days , People were cranky and yelling and doing some of everything out there . That didnt stop me the boyz from enjoying what we came for and as it turns out that was one of the funniest days i had on the lake last year.

My point is that im the kinda guy that excepts the fact that i cant controll others actions , As long as there no major accidents and any illegal acts going on , man we all gotta share that body of water for whatever our "personal" intent is for that day. Im too afraid that i might miss a fish by yell at a boater or jet ski next to me . So i just stay focus on what i came for that day and let everything and everyone do the same .

I would like to hear how some of you guys deal with the things that are OUT OF OUR CONTROLL MAN while out on the lake ?????

Dez, I think you are referring to the outing me and LowVW had on Goodwin last week. I certainly think we enjoyed our time on the water (at least 95% of it anyways lol), but we had our gripes about a couple individuals. I just wish more people could use some commen respect when on the water. I know its gonna be tough for those wild ones on the jet skis and wake boats, but I really was not happy to see fellow bass anglers pulling this crap. We should be looking out for eachother, not pissing one another off.

Crowded waters, disrespectful boaters....I dont care too much, as long as I'm on the water :)

Hey so what exactly take place that got you heated? I have talk to you a few times on here, heck i remember the day you joined bro. You cool people in my book , i know there was a tourney going on that day , was that your first time being on the water when a tourney was going down . oooo and BTW bass anglers pissing eachother off is bout as common as dropshoting on lake washington (you can count on it) lol .

Wish them all well, tell them there the man and provide them with love!

That alone will blow most away other then the flat out drunks and bullies that you might just have to say if pushed far enough and safety issues only for family and friends not words ever if pushed ( LETS DANCE):eye:

I am asked out at least 1-3 times a year why most know I am very sick the cowards use to hide in shame and do there dirty work on the PC

Rise above it while its just words there reflexion is nothing but hate from getting it done..

I was having a very bad day and had to be on the cain just to make my buds boat that needed support and help but I came and showed.

Names not needed a wannabe tough guy lol who could not carry my mouth piece or gloves called me out and asked me for some dock side??

I said I have never seen you I do not know you what will this provide you by trying a ex enforcer who can barely walk.???

He called me a coward and some other goodies I smelled the liquid courage on his breath.

I finished my time with him and said I will pray for you as he spit in my face, now most dont have a clue 2 years ago he would of been waterside then the ER or worse and what would a ex fighter gain from that nothing but a problem or 3..

I wiped my face and asked him please don't do this and give me passing room to pass I also told him I will not fight you it would take my own life not from the Cupcake I would still sit him down and fast but from the problems I have to beat would not be worth my death for a drunken punk.:-$

Then John the Cutterman came up from the tub 25 feet away/Swede anything wrong not a thing and I asked him one more time let me pass or I will turn the Cutter man loose

The story is simple tell them there great call 911 or if the choices run out protect your loved ones and that is the 1st and only time I ever said no to showtime it hurt me deep but only my pride.:colors:

What did he gain and he came very close to loosing his health and life

Fear is death and dying and loss not any of these bad apples that make all the Sportsman look bad .

Reach out and ask for a handshake that freaks them out and if it all goes south call me I need a dance! LOL

Yeah, looks like the word is getting out on our goodwin trip. When we saw the tourney boats take off in the morning we knew it was going to be a crowded day. Out of the 8 or 9 boats that fished it, we only had problem with one boat...All the rest of the guys spread out on the lake and ran from spot to spot, but if there was a boat fishing a certain spot, they would find another. I dont have a problem w/ guys running and gunning. The problem was with the same boat about 4 times during the day...they would see us working a section...say working north, they would come up and stop 5 or 6 docks to the north of us and start fishing south...towards us. Then get as tight to the docks as possible..inside the dock line and work towards us...pushing us out of the spot and make us manuever around them. That is the problem. How bout some courtesy for other guys out on the lake doing the same thing as you are!!!...its not like those guys were out for the classic championship or the flw cup!!

By the way Dez, I was using some WCCT money shot worms that day. Unfortunately I was unable to report any fish that day with them. But the worms held up pretty well.

I have fished where tournaments are held, but Goodwin seems awfully small for a 8-10 boat party to try on a Sunday when the weather is nice. They certainly made fishing difficult. But as LowVW said, we expected that, just not the actions of one boat in particular.

The sad thing is that the angler had his teenage boy with him. Apparently he was training him to be the next B"Ass" Champion

OOOO , I C .. I can see you fustration no dout . The tourney boat realize that you guy were not in the tourney by way of no banner on your outboard . So thats why they got close to ya like that , the tourneys rules dont allow the boats to get withing 50 yards of another "tourney boat" . In you case you just so happen to be fishing a hole that he proberly got a good fish on in per fishn or some thing . Dont get ne wrong im not justifing his actions , im just pointing out his state of mind. In a tourney situation when $ is on the line , dude it hard for me so say that if you were gettn near a spot that i pre fished and found a good fish that i wouldnt fish that area even though your there . I know it kind rude , but i would have atleast just ask if you mind if i pass through here really quick because im in a tourney . If you told me to F off , then i would have to except that and make a choice to leave or waited till you pass through , but thats just me . but i can atleast see why you were upset and if i were fishing with you that day , we would have held our spot and continued to fish . But the only difference is that i would not have publicly vented my fustrations that can give "ALL" Bass anglers a bad rep ..Do ya get what im sayn with this ?

Thanks for the support with those cool baits man . They are killer and i have hung a few with them as well . Dude i just had a conversation about a topic simular on another forum . Keep in mind that we are talking about "individules" first , anglers second . Dont let one person and one boat repersent the entire sport we all love . I dont care for a few Pros on FLW , not to say that circuit isn't the best one going in this world . Question , did you voice your concerns to gentleman and let him know that he was invading your space ? if you said nothing to him on the water , then it sounds like you got pushed off your spot .. sucks #-o

It's all about individuals. Yes, you get individuals that suck on the water, likewise you get individuals that suck waiting in line at the grocery store....it happens. This guy obviously thought he was the ****, but jokes on him. The water is everyones resource to enjoy.....waterfront owners, shore anglers, guys in little boats, and tourny anglers. It's a fine balance, just treat people how you want to be treated and the rest will work out. Jack's always have what's coming to them....(that's why they are jack's....:-$ ). I just smile and wave....the best way to p' them off more!!! HA HA

Anyway, don't ever let someone else ruin your day of fishing, that's the rule I have.

I understand what your saying...but on such a small lake, where guys were spread out evenly across the lake. To come up and jump where we were at...multiple times...on different areas of the lake. My post was not to give all anglers a bad rap, just a heads up...somewhat hoping that the team that was jumping us was on here, or another from there club...so they could see it from the little boats side. :-({|= .......But its off to Banks this weekend and again in a week and half so that will help...come on fish:cheers:

I'll just wave and keep on fishing. I watch them and when they stop its my turn to play. As far as people saying any thing to me, so far that hasnt happened. I will not take any fooling around on the water.
