P-Line is the BOMB!

Ok with my new rod, and reel it came spooled with 12# line. I put on a 1/2oz weight and went out to practice casting. First cast, line snapped and weight ended up on the neighbors deck.
So I retrieved it and pulled 5 yds out of line. tied the weight and tossed again, 70yd cast and rats nest.
Took 75yds off and tried one last time, line snapped on the cast and lost the weight.
SO I took it down to Outdoor emporium in Seattle and had 12# P-Line CX put on it. We weight tested it while there, the old line would lift 4#'s before breaking, the P-Line we gave up on at 25#. The Old line we could snap easily with a tug, the P-Line we couldn't snap and ended up hurt our hands.
Total Cost? $3.30 for 120yds.
Couldn't be more impressed.

What kind of rod and reel did you buy ? Always good to have quality line, you won't lose no fishies now.

sounds like your 12 lb test P-Line is more like 25 lb test.
I like P-line fluoro and have it on a few reels.

It's about all I use now...Saltwater reels, freshwater reels, anything. From 4lb test all the way up to 15lb test.
P Line CXX is about 2x as strong as the indicated lb test on the label. I even use 15 lb test on my saltwater bottomfishing and salmon gear and its VERY hard to break it off the bottom if your on a snag. Never had an issue with breaking off on fish or anything, and I love the stuff....

Yes it is. I've loved P-Line from day one. Messed around with a ton of other lines and I always come back to P-Line. I use all their types of line for various applications. If anyone asks about the best line to use I will always say P-Line hands down. Damn, I should have P-Line as a sponsor.
What # test for the bikini flippinfool?

P-Line is very tough to beat for the price. I use it exclusively for my copoly and fluoro applications.

Hands down P-line is the best for fluro and co-poly I switched last year and I am not complaining about it's strength and or stretch. Great fishing line!!!!!!

P line is indeed a good line. In the triple X version, it is very abrasion resistant, but also very stiff. So, good, yes, best there is, not really.
Keep in mind that there is no such thing as a prefect line, one is better for diameter, one for abrasion, some for casting with a spinning reel, some for a bait caster, etc., etc.
I use the P line for my flouro needs a lot, probably as good as Seagar, and maybe even a little better. But, for my other 10 spools, I have other lines I prefer.
Still, I have one real of triple X for those days when I need that line.
One final note, some lines claim to be super strong by under rating their line. For example, the diameter may be 20 pound, the actual breaking strength may be 20 pound, but they rate their line at 12 pound and tell you how strong the 12 pound line is. Old trick, one I don't fall for anymore. Have you checked the diameter and actual breaking strength of the line to compare? To be honest, I did not check my P line out.
