Winter Bassing

Man, I haven't been on here in a while... good to be back.

Anyway, I don't know a whole lot about bass fishing (which is why I come here to learn) and I was wondering, is there anywhere to fish bass this time of year? I know it's cold up here but like I said, I'm learning.

Also, if the bass aren't biting what is and where? My lines have been dry for far too long and I'm dying to get them wet.

OK gotcha, winter Bass is tough in our icy winter waters. But, because you are in the Spokane Area, try ice fishing Elokia for LMB this time of year. I have seen some nice LMBs come out of that winter wonder land, so remember C&R.

I fish a lot of the open lakes around the area that have bass and trout this time of year, and I catch the trout, but the bass are deep, tightly schooled, and just plain difficult. If you are real lucky, or real good, I have caught a couple of Bass in drop shot worms in February at Rock Lake.

Bass in the winter are deep, slow, and generally very neutral feeders this time of year.

If you go for a drive TEXAS is a good place to get bass this time of year. East of Texas is very good also. Drive south untill you dont need a jacket.

HAHA! I'm actually working on getting a job in Texas right now so maybe this time next year I'll be able to do that.
