There are bass in both lakes. Ballinger has bass off to the right of the dock and around the island. Going to the left of the dock is a little slower for bass but I have seen people catch em. I have seen lots of crawfish so the bass might be feeding on them. Along with lots of small perch too. There are some small mouth in Balllinger also. You should fish deep and slow and you might get some around 3lbs. As far as echo you are on your own. Bass are there but I haven't fished it in a while. Good luck:salut: Steve

IMO ,
I would suggest Ballinger for one main reason , Echo is a stunted lake 80% of the bass in there are dinks and only offers maybe three to four bass that go over 3+ in size ...
Ballinger one the other hand doesnt offer as many dinks so teh action can be slow , however there is a group of LMB that like to hangout on the south side of the island , look for the big log that comes out the water down below is where they spend the bulk of there time .. I know for a fact there there are atleast four 4+ lb bass around there, if you come across the school there is one bass in there that could go 6.5-7 lbs (warning he is the hardest to catch) and dont spook the rest of fish by only chasing that one ..
10 inch gambler worms in watermelon riged texas style should get the job done .. have fun bud !
