Going to be camping in or around Burlington, WA in the middle of August. Looking for a lake (preferably with boat rentals) in the area that myself and a buddy can catch some bass. Any ideas out there? Thanks -BRDNST

Just off the top of my head, I can't think of any lakes in that area that have boat rentals. Clear lake has a little shore access, I used to fish there as a kid. You could also try Big lake, but I'm not sure how much shore access there is.

Might try purchasing a blow up raft (like a Sevylore, I think I spelled that right) and hit Clear Lake, Beaver Lake, Reed Lake, and if you can get down to it, try Mud Lake in the town of Clear Lake. There aren't any lakes around here that rent boats anymore. The last one was on Big Lake about 10 or 15 years ago.

Clear Lake has huge shallow flat areas on both sides of the access. I've done some wet wading in the past working the lilly/dollar pads. Was pretty successful in the early morning and late evening doing that. Other than that, shore access is at a premium around here!
