Boogee Bait

Have any of you guys tryed using a soft jerk bait or small swim bait on a boogee bait? 
Also known as a chatter bait,swimming jigs? This is supposed to git strikes better than the skirt thats on the bait. 
Well I see that no one out there even uses this bait.
