Has anyone fished this area? I scouted it and found sketchy access near the trailhead. WDFW says good to excellent for largemouth but I don't want any trouble with private land owners.:-"

I fished for bass in the Rutherford Slough in a canoe several times many years ago. It is near Fall City in King County and at that time it was just a road side access.

According to the WDFW, it is still just road side access off the highway right of way. I have gone there twice. Once as a drive by to locate it, and once later on in the year to fish but did not make it out due to a fishing partner who did not want to get stuck in the mud walking across the marshy looking area right off the highway. If you get out there, post a report and tell us all about it. Good luck.

Rutherford Slew was my favorite place to fish growing up. We used to ride our bikes to the bridge before they build the new one and fish underneath it. The fishing used to be unbelievable back in the late seventies and early eighties. This makes me want to try and get out there again. We used to access it at the bridge but there was a road just beyond it that had a few points of access also.

I've checked out Rutherford but never fished it. Access looks pretty difficult from what I can see. It looks like part of what used to be open water has turned into swamp/marsh.

I've also checked out a few other sloughs in the Fall City/Carnation area that looked like they had easier access and more open water. I'm not sure about the fishing in these sloughs but I would sure love to hear if anyone has had any luck in these waters.

This is one of the few valley sloughs/swamps that I have not fished yet because of access. The only point at which you can gain legal without permission access is at or near the highway and it is far to swampy/boggy to reach the water. A friend and I tried to go up the road that parrallels it but it was full of no tresspassing/no fishing signs at all of the easy access points.

There are some other small bodies of water that are worth checking out such as the ponds right off of the highway near Carnation, Stillwater and Duvall.
