I typically use a Rapala floater in dark brown but want to know what everyone else uses?

Your gonna get a ton of responses, I'll start off with mine:
I like buzzbaits/spinnerbaits for largemouth....Chartreuse.....
For smallmouth: Jointed shad raps....Blue shad or silver shad kills em up against rocky banks....They don't snag up much in the rocks either....A big plus cause buying Rapalas gets expensive if your losing a lot of em

The black and silver DT-11 is a good bait. Troling or casting,I use it as a jerk bait. And for big fish the King Kong swim bait I have one but the fish here must be to small to eat it.

My favorite hard bait is definatlely Strike kings bleeding spit n king, but I love any topwater popper. Also a topwater jitterbug! Under the surface I gotta go with lipless crankbaits.

My Fav. has to be my remote control boat . I can attach up to two leaders and simply add live worms and a few AA Batteries ..(EXCELLENT TOP WATER ACTION)..LOL .. ok all bull to the side I really like the LuckyCraft pointers for the waters out here . I also have been finding action with the jointed Rapala's (they work everywhere)..My opinon is that any crank with some good color and a tight wiggle will produce a reaction bite in most lake around here .. SpinnerbaitSare and will forever be a numbers bait period (COLOR AND SIZE DETERMINS BEST RESULTS). As for Topwater for now I mainly only use a Frog , I haven't found another topbait that will produce bigger Fish ..Important note Hard baits only represent 25% of my over all tackle ..BBD :king:

WOW, you got me thinking there. I did not see any bad answers above, and that's for sure.
I do have a love of Buzz Baits, 3/16 oz for small mouths at the right time of year, 3/8 oz for large mouths. Buzz baits don't always work, but they tend to be big fish baits and it is a blast to watch them smak them down.
I also like the Bomber Model A series of cranks.
And I also........................................................
Never mind, my wife points out that there is a reason I got a hard bound Cabelas cataloge, I want one of each.

Rat L traps in shiner blue or jointed shads in silver/black colors. Had great luck with all types of fish with those.

My favorite Hard Bait/lure would have to be Heddons Zara Spook. I havent personally caught anything on one, but theres something about the lure that gets your heart beating faster on each cast. Probably the way the lure slices through the water, moving side to side and putting on such a life-like appearance.
Makes you wonder why bass dont feel the same way?

For surface baits, I like Zara Spooks in Bone and white buzzbaits.
For subsurface, I prefer the Jointed Shad Raps (blue shad) and DT-4 cranks (gold w/ black back) from Rapala. Also, starting to use the Strike King Red Eye Shad ( in Sexy Shad or chrome/blue back) a lot.

Depends on the situation. For shallow water I use bomber Square A and 4A. I like the threadfin shad and bengal fire tiger. The Square A canactualy be fished in heavy wood and deflects off it with little effort and keeps swimming. Lipless would be the Rattl-trap in chrome and black. The DT Series from Rapala is phenomenal, just about any color. I used the X-RAP for my jerkbait and kill the smallies...... I love crankbaits.

I am with ya DEZ on the pointer. Caught way too many fish on them, from trout, smallies, largemouth, sqawfish( big), etc. But, have you tried the Bevy Shad? Amazing bait for a small jerkbait. They dive pretty deep also.

Trust me, they do, but conditions have to be just right. (LOL)
I like to use them at dusk, when the temperatures are 90 degrees, out near the edge of the weed line or near fallen trees.
When they work, they make you want to use them even more.
