Northwest Fishing Reports

I have been trying to find a lake/topo/depth map (what ever you call it) of a Lake near my house, Lake Terrel in Whatcom county. I've had no luck. Where should I be looking or asking?

I actually have no idea where to look for topo maps for Washington lakes other than WL.com and another fishing site that shall remain nameless.

I did find a decent resource for topographic maps of just about every area in Washington while searching for lake maps, if thats any consolation at all. I found a few map services...but they wanted $$ for either the maps or the software. Below is a link to the map of that particular area if you're interested.

Lake Terrel... in a word,, SHALLOW. I was there a few weeks ago, and that lake isn't any deeper than 10' in the deepest spot. Most of it is about 6'.

Yeah I know it is pretty shallow. I've heard it averages about 12 feet. I fished it all last year and it gets really over run with pads. I had heard that there was some flooded stumps in an area but without electronics I figured that maybe a map would help me locate them.

How did you approach this shallow lake?

I think you need some electronics, if your budget can swing it. Then you can watch the bottom change on the screen and in your mind you can picture whats going on down there. But a map will get you by for now if you can find one, I'm no help.
