Just finished reading my March 2008 issue of Bassmaster Magazine and was pleased to see that the Honor and Reputation of the NW Fisherman was upheld by 2 gentleman from WA. A Vancouver fisherman caught a 6 lb. 1 oz. smb on the Columbia River and a 2nd smb was caught by a Puyallup citizen out of Lake Washngton, and weighed 6lbs. 3oz. My hat is off to these gentleman. Good Luck to all those inclined to wet a line for old MR. Bass

Three years? That's odd. I wonder if he just didn't submit it till recently. I know a few people out of OR and Cal that have had pics in from the current season they caught them.

Want to start a trophy board here? Say photos of smallmouth bass over 4 pounds and largemouth over 6 pounds. Current season only, must be posted within 30 days of catch. The lower weights will allow more participation. Not a contest, therefore no nasty-grams from big brother and his iron boot.

We can start a WL.com Lunker Club. And danielt's 4.1lb SMB winter bass can be the start for 08'. That's a good idea cavdad45.
Those are some nice Smallies. It is kind of weird that it took that long to feature them. Well, just think, now they're that much bigger. kzoo, we'll catch one this year. No worries. :thumleft:

Let's get one of the moderators to set it up in the bass forum with a sticky so it won't go away. And get danielt's bass as the first post.

I don't fish it that often. After a day of rain they put up notices about not touching the water due to sewage overflow and sh.. like that. (pun intended) My smaller rivers are usually blown out until May, but I do have an early season pond that is warming up that I plan to fish next Saturday with one of my sons.
In about two weeks I'll be at SilverLake and shortly after that Lacamas. I do have a couple prespawn trophy trips scheduled for Selmac in So. Oregon, too. I'm just at the gates ready to kick off 2008.

Sorry bro. Forgot the zero. In this case it makes a lot of difference. Smallie of the year so far. And a dream bass for a lot of us. Definitely worthy of the WL.com Trophy Wall of Fame.

I would write it 4-10. Thats 4 lbs 10 oz. 4.10 is 4.10 in my book. Giant fish for this time of year, great job Daniel. I haven't got a SM that big in all my years.
Great idea though, we need a Sticky.

I'd like to nominate my bro Dave for the lunker club. Caught last spring at Lake stevens on a jerk bait. No scale, but it was very large. (he's 6' 250lbs). Biggest smallie i've ever seen in person. I was very jealous to say the least!!

Damn! Get that boy on this board. Have him post it up on the trophy board sticky. It is unclear as to whether or not it is all trophy bass or 08' only.
That is an unreal fish. I would say over 5lbs tetering on 6. Fish of a lifetime there.

It's tempting on posting former years, but maybe we should just stick to 08'.
