Northwest Fishing Reports

I figured it would be worth sharing. This dude seems to know his stuff. I wonder if his tactics would work around here, say at Lake Washington, at night????

I'm off to buy 50 bucks worth of jigs now. And right after I bought $60 in one sitting from BPS....

I wasn't sure what type(s) of jigs he was talking about. Football and shakey head jigs are better for bottom fishing, but standard round-head bucktail jigs are better under a float.

Yea he does mention several other tactics/strategies beyond fishing shade for smallies. All of which are very interesting to read. Whether it holds true to NW smallies, is up for us to test...

I'm not sure either. That's why I have to spend 50 bucks to get every type known to man.

Thats some long reading... Anyways I don't know if the shade idea is too relevant up here (granted I don't know much about up here) because smallmouth will usually be found on structure instead of cover in deep water. However I think all bass like the shade... day or night. Secondly do blade baits work up here or only in water with shad?

I've done some reading on trout fishing at night as well -- they do well in some parts of the state late at night into the overnight hours -- obviously tactics would change considerably -- has anyone night fished for rainbows or any trout for that matter? I know someone who fished a lake with powerbait at night and did really well for nice large bows -- he put a glow on his powerbait and the fish just inhaled it -- very good read BTW, and I think the night-fishing could take off like the ice-fishing has in Eastern, WA. Who knows?!

blade baits work very well - spinnerbait fishing is one of my favorite tactics.
