the palouse river above (palouse falls)is not very well known but has a good amount of small mouth bass along with catfish and rainbows. the bass average 2-4lbs in places you can catch well over 20 in an hour ive also caught a 6lb and a couple 5 pounders, the trout are hit and miss average about 8-14 inches, catfish are only in the deep spots. The only problem with this river is the fish arent good to eat thanks to the farmers down there who still dump and spray chemicals by the river wheres EPA

I fished the one right next to the town of Hooper. I'm not sure if it was the Palouse or the Little Palouse. Caught about 16 of the biggest squawfish I've ever seen (I don't get out much). They were up to 4lbs.

Hello fishking,
I have always wanted to take a float trip down the Palouse. I have fished it in a few places but access to most of it is private as you know. The Palouse is a great untapped Smallmouth River with some real dandys in it.
